“The Stories” paintings are a tale about a world that is unusual. About existence, which everyone experiences differently. About lostness, nostalgy and transformation into another reality. The human in this case is a woman.

“The Stories” paintings combine abstract form with figurative photography. Unreal — white, grey, blue — figures are placed in a characteristic pictorial reality. They become a part of the painting and at the same time its observer from within.

The process of creating the paintings is complex. First, there’s an idea — an abstract painting is created and works as a background for farther action. Then, a suitable person is chosen — a model that will become a part of the painting. During a photoshoot, the woman is derealised — covered in specific paint. The photo then gets composed into the paintings, drowned in a layer of transparent epoxy resin.
